FIBRAFIX® TX-R Effective Removal of TCA from Wine Press Release After 4 years of research and trails on in-excess of 3,500,000 million litres of wine, Progressive Group Australia as Sole Australian Agents for Carlson Filtration is proud to present the latest innovation in the removal of TCA (trichloroanisole) taints. The Filtrox/Carlson Group has developed the FIBRAFIX® TX-R filter sheet. The active agent in the FIBRAFIX® TX-R filter sheet being an inorganic compound “TRIEX®” (patent pending) that removes TCA without damaging or “scalping” a wine’s aroma or flavour. TRIEX® has already received regulatory approval for treating wine and has been specifically engineered to remove TCA molecules. Not only do these sheets remove TCA but they are also extremely effective in removing TBA (tribromoanisole) being a chemical contaminant similar to TCA and having similar impact on wine. The benefit of using the FIBRAFIX® TX-R filter sheet is that the filter sheets remove the offending chemical in one simple step. FIBRAFIX® TX-R filter sheets are free of GMO and common allergens with all materials being food grade and FDA approved. “ We see this as a significant step forward
in the battle against TCA in the Australian
Wine Industry. One pass through the filter
sheet is enough to remove the offending
TCA taint to non detectable levels”
